David Steinmetz was known for his engaging and charismatic lecture style, and especially for his ability to break down and explain difficult or complicated concepts. One of his primary aids in this activity was a series of illustrations he developed, using the charming artistic medium of the "stick figure," in order to break down concepts such as Atonement Theory, the relationship of Scripture and Tradition, or different Theologies of the Eucharist. These images, taken from lecture notes in the Divinity Archive's collection of David Steinmetz's papers, are accompanied by explanations of the images as provided by Dr. Steinmetz's former students.
