Description Mafoura, formerly Borj el Djerbi, about 5km east of Tebourba (36km northwest of Tunis). Henchir Le Brille. The proprietor, Ali Ferhadt, took Dr. Keefe to see a Roman mosaic pavement he found and keeps covered with dirt. He said the entire place was covered with mosaics. Here his son, Mohammud, has uncovered a bit of the pavement showing a bird (peacock, as Dr. Keefe drew in her notes, with tail and headdress) in blue and white mosaic.
