Description |
Pergamon. Bergama, "the Red Basilica." Originally built by Hadrian (117-138 AD) as a temple to Serapis. Converted to a church and dedicated to the Apostle John in Byzantine times. Unexpectedly, found a baptismal font outside it. Pictured center. |
