Description |
Three terraces of the Asklepeion survive, the lowest of which has a sacred spring (still running), the second of which has the Temple of Asklepeion and an Abaton for sick persons, and the third of which had a Christian church built over one section. The church was destroyed, but a lone capital supporting an altar survives. Dr. Keefe also saw among the ruins to the right of the temple some sarcophagi and a slab with two Christian crosses. |
