Description |
Unfortunately the sign was the only thing Dr. Keefe could photograph since this site was locked up and a search for the Papas who had the key turned out to be fruitless. One important note she includes, however is directions: she found out about this church ("St. Michael the Archangel in Kissimos") through a resource by a scholar named Volanakis, but her first trip to a village called Kissimos, despite the presence of a Church of St. Michael there, proved not to be Volanakis site at all. Further questioning revealed there was another town called Kissimos-Episkopi that hosted the site Dr. Keefe was looking for. Except it was locked. In order to get there: "Kissimos-Episkopi is located near Kolambari on the National Road; head south and go through Sisti-Drakon to Episkopi. Church locked; no way to get key to see font inside." |
