Description From Dr. Keefe's notes: "Athens - Tower of the Winds (Horologion Andronikos of Kyrrhos Kyrristou, by the Roman Agora), date: Roman. Ristow #976 ("uncertain or mistaken") says occasionally this octagon structure was interpreted as a baptistery. The Church of the "Megali Panagia" built in Hadrian's Library, because of its large size and in center of Athens, was thought to have been the Cathedral. Since this would have had a baptistery, it is thought the Horologion may have served this function, very nearby. Standing in exactly the same place I took picture of church and then twisted around to take picture of Horologion."
