dc.description "From Cathedral of St. Michael and All Angels, Coventry, England. The old cathedral was bombed and burned during WWII. A new one was constructed in the 1960's which attracted my interest in architecture. Timbers from the old cathedral were erected on the floor of the nave and handmade nails formed this 'Cross of Nails"" - a symbol of the cathedral. I visited there on sabbatical in 1995 on the soth anniversary of the dropping of the bomb in Hiroshima when a special liturgy commemorated that occasion and the simultaneous dedication of a statue entitled ""Reconciliation"" by Josefina de Vasconcellos was unveiled on the grounds of Coventry Cathedral and also in the Garden of Remembrance in Hiroshima." en_US
