xmlui.metadata.dc.description.abstract Course Description: We will look at the celebration and interpretation of the Eucharist in the first eight centuries of the Church using entirely primary source materials, including liturgical documents, the writings of the church fathers, legislative canons of church councils, penitential books, and archaeological and iconographic evidence. In a final research paper students may explore any topic they wish related to Eucharistic belief or practice in the early church. en_US
