| Description | Sunken, cruciform baptismal font, with the unusual feature of the arms blocked off by stone slabs. The fifth step down was the bottom, about 5 ft. deep. The depth of the arms was about 2-1/2 ft. The font is very personal. Only one person can fit in it at one time, with perhaps someone standing in an arm pouring water on her/him. The church entrance was only a few yards away to the east. Bulla Regia, 60 km/37 miles south of Tabarka. | |
