Abstract:
This view of the Temple of Serapis was taken from inside a tourist bus. The Temple of Serapis in Pergamum is also known as the Red Hall, the Crimson Basilica, and the Crimson Courtyard for the color of its bricks. Built during the reign of Hadrian for worship of the Egyptian god, Serapis, it was converted into a church during the Byzantine era. During this May 2015 tour large portions were undergoing structural reinforcement.
